our curriculum
Our art curriculum is structured around the seven basic elements of art. Each project focuses on a particular element or combination of elements. We look at how famous modern and contemporary artists have used these elements in their work, then do a project of our own showcasing these particular elements, styles and techniques.
There is also an emphasis on cross-collaboration with topics being studied in other subject areas so that students will have an opportunity to process information in a more hands on way. All project themes for Kindergarten have been aligned to the Tools of the Mind curriculum so there will be more continuity for our youngest learners, and projects are also occasionally seasonally themed. |
