Students are given two grades in Art each term. The letter grade shows how they are performing academically, the number reflects their pro-social behavior.
Academic
Academic refers to how well students are able to demonstrate an understanding of the art concepts, materials and processes we are learning about. This is the "hands and brain" part of our self-check. Students are given an M (Meets), P (Progressing), S (Starting to progress), or an N (Not yet progressing) for this grade.

Pro-Social
Pro-social is more about how a student behaves, participates, cooperates with their peers and the teacher and the effort they put into their projects. This is the "heart" part of the self-check. Students are given a 3 (meets expectations most of the time on their own), 2 (meets expectations some of the time), 1 (needs lots of teacher intervention to meet expectations).
